The former mayor of Stillwater, New York was sentenced on Tuesday to 5 to 15 years in state prison for possession of child pornography.
Rick Nelson resigned as mayor of the Saratoga County village in September after he was arrested by state police. The 63-year-old admitted to knowingly having and accessing images of children less than 16 years of age engaged in sexual conduct.
On Sept. 19, 2017, the village’s board of trustees appointed Frank Tatum as mayor after Nelson resigned.
