College Dispells Virus Rumors

Officials at SUNY Plattsburgh are working to dispel rumors that a student has coronavirus.
The college issued a campus health advisory to assure students, staff and faculty that the coronavirus is not present on campus.

MyNBC5 reports that rumors appeared Wednesday through texts and Facebook posts that a student had the virus.

The college says it is monitoring the international outbreak in conjunction with the New York Department of Health and is implementing any CDC recommendations. College officials emphasize there are no cases of coronavirus on the northern New York campus.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday New York state had no confirmed cases yet.
