The University of Vermont Medical Center is now doing its own coronavirus testing.The Burlington hospital began on-site COVID-19 testing Tuesday. President and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Stephen Leffler calls it a milestone. “That’s a huge opportunity to increase the capacity of the number of tests we can do and it also improves how fast we get results back.”
Leffler says while test kits are limited, by partnering with outside labs and the state of Vermont, their capacity to conduct COVID testing is at its highest level yet during the crisis.
