Vermont Officials Recommend Wearing Masks

Vermont’s Health Commissioner is joining a growing number of health officials advising people to wear cloth masks in public.

There has been some debate whether the general public should wear face masks.  On Friday, Dr. Mark Levine said knowledge about the efficacy of wearing masks is evolving.  “Now we know from more recent data that pre-symptomatic spread of COVID is possible especially in the 48 hours prior to symptom onset. So wearing a face mask may help people from spreading the virus.”

Commissioner Levine emphasized that wearing a mask does not eliminate the need to maintain social distancing.
