In North Adams, Massachusetts, budget season is underway. First-term mayor Tom Bernard just checked off a major decision for the year with the appointment of Jason Wood as the city’s new police chief earlier this month. Bernard spoke with WAMC about the spending plan’s focus and the ongoing challenge of downtown revitalization.
