Sears To Close In The Berkshire Mall

The Berkshire Mall is losing another store, the fourth closure in the Lanesborough, Massachusetts shopping outlet this year. 

The Sears location is among 63 Sears and Kmart stores nationally that will be closing. The Berkshire Mall location will operate through January.

Payless ShoeSource and Eastern Mountain Sports announced in April the closure of their locations in The Berkshire Mall. Kay Jewelers left that same month for nearby Pittsfield.

JC Penney pulled out of the mall in March. Macy's and Best Buy stores closed in 2015. 

The mall's assessment value has dropped from $60 million to less than $19.5 million.
