Dolly Parton, one of country music’s all-time superstars, is kicking off the Tanglewood season with a concert Friday.A stop on her 60-city tour, Parton is making her Tanglewood debut at 7 o’clock. The country music icon talked about her tour and the release of a double-album featuring new songs and top hits on a conference call earlier this year.
“We’ll be doing on-stage all the favorites – ‘Jolene’, ‘I Will Always Love You’, ‘9 to 5’ and ‘Islands in the Stream,’” Parton said. “And then we’ll do our gospel things and our corny jokes.”
Parton’s tour includes stops in Boston and Queens.
