More Than 1,000 Vermonters Head To Climate March

People's Climate March

More than 1,000 Vermonters are planning to attend the New York version of what is expected to be a series of world-wide marches calling for solutions to the threat of climate change.

Maeve McBride of 350Vt says plans call for 22 buses to bring Vermonters to the Sunday Peoples Climate March in New York.

Some of the Vermont buses will be leaving on Saturday while others will leave early Sunday morning, to arrive in time for the New York march. The buses will be picking up passengers from across Vermont.

She says other Vermonters will travel to New York on their own.

McBride calls it a big moment in the movement for climate justice.

Organizers of the national event are calling it the largest climate march in history.
