National Grid says it has restored power to nearly 19,000 customers in Northern Berkshire County after a circuit breaker failed at a substation in Adams. WAMC’s Berkshire Bureau Chief Jim Levulis reports.
National Grid spokesman Jake Navarro says the failure occurred at around 11:30 Tuesday morning at the company’s substation in Adams. He says it’s the same substation where a fire broke out in May that left nearly 20,000 customers without power for several hours.
“What I’m being told now is that this is a completely separate piece of equipment from what malfunctioned during that outage,” said Navarro.
Outages were reported in Adams, North Adams, Williamstown, Clarksburg, Cheshire, Hancock and Florida.
