With summer in full swing, baseball fans across the country are flocking to the ballpark. In Pittsfield, Massachusetts, a city that claims to have made the first written reference to the game in 1791 — when it banned the sport from being played within 80 yards of a meeting house — the destination is Wahconah Park. WAMC’s Berkshire Bureau Chief Jim Levulis spent a night at the storied ballpark now home to the Pittsfield Suns of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.
