The Dutchess County executive has been elected to serve as president of a New York State Association of Counties affiliate.

County Executives from across the state elected Republican Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro to serve as president for the New York State County Executives Association (NYSCEA). The Association represents the 19 counties that have county executives as their chief elected official. Molinaro, who ran for governor in 2018, says he looks forward to building the necessary partnerships to battle the COVID-19 pandemic and save the economy. Molinaro succeeds Democratic Albany County Executive Dan McCoy. Presidents are elected every two years.
