A city in the Hudson Valley has released its proposal to use federal COVID-19 funding.
The City of Poughkeepsie’s proposal shows how it would use more than $490,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding for COVID-19 recovery efforts. The money comes through the federal CARES Act. Mayor Rob Rolison says the city is proposing to allocate money for business stabilization grants, child care costs, eviction prevention and housing security, food distribution and other endeavors. Grants awarded through this program are aimed at benefiting low- to moderate-income residents in Poughkeepsie. There is a virtual public hearing on the proposal September 23.
