In New York, the Ulster County executive Thursday unveiled one of his green initiatives ahead of his state-of-the county address.

Democratic Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan announced grant funding for a green careers initiative at SUNY Ulster. The nearly $250,000 grant from the New York State Energy Research Development Authority, or NYSERDA, to SUNY Ulster is for the Green Careers Academy Ryan unveiled in his 2020 budget presentation in October. The funding will go directly towards tuition assistance for Ulster County residents. Additionally, Ryan, who just began his first full term, is launching a Green Youth Fellowship that will offer paid internships in the environmental and green business sector. Ryan will deliver his State of the County address January 30 at Kingston High School.
