NY Rep Asks For MOU Approval For Hospital At West Point

A New York congressman is asking the Army surgeon general to authorize an agreement involving the Keller Army Community Hospital at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Democratic Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney has written to the Army Surgeon General asking that the Army authorize a Memorandum of Understanding between the Keller Army Community Hospital and the Hudson Valley Health Care System of the Department of Veterans Affairs to allow VA patients to receive services at Keller. Maloney says this comes as recent policy changes have left the future of medical treatment facilities, including Keller Army Hospital, in jeopardy. Meantime Maloney says the Army has decided to keep the labor and delivery unit shuttered at Keller, a move the 18th District congressman had asked the Army to reconsider in March. The delivery unit had been temporarily closed since May of last year.
