Gibson, Eldridge Will Talk About The Environment At NYLCVEF Forum

Two candidates in New York’s 19th Congressional District will participate in a forum tonight at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Republican Congressman Chris Gibson and Democrat Sean Eldridge will field questions on a range of environmental topics. The forum is hosted by the New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund. WAMC’s Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne spoke with New York League of Conservation Voters President Marcia Bystryn about what to expect.

Brystyn notes this evening’s forum and one October 14 in the 18th district race between Democratic Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney and Republican Nan Hayworth are the only two forums the League is holding this year. Tonight’s environmental forum at SUNY New Paltz is from 7-9 p.m. in the lecture center. The college’s political scientist Dr. Gerald Benjamin is moderating. The panelists are from Riverkeeper, Scenic Hudson, and WAMC’s Allison Dunne. WAMC is serving as the event’s media sponsor.
