Authorities say a body found floating in the Hudson River in New York is that of a suspect wanted in a workplace shooting on Long Island last week.
Police confirm that the body of 63-year-old Sang Ho Kim is the one recovered from the Hudson River in Rockland County Monday morning, near the Bear Mountain Bridge and Iona Island. The identification comes after the search for Kim began in Putnam County Wednesday night, after a patrolling Putnam County sheriff’s deputy spotted the suspect’s getaway vehicle parked unattended along Route 9D just north of the Village of Cold Spring. This is about 10 miles from where Kim’s body was found floating in the river. Authorities say Kim allegedly shot two workers Wednesday morning at a lighting fixture company in East Garden City, in Nassau County, one fatally. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office used a mass-calling alert system Monday afternoon to notify area residents that the suspect had been found.
