WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — A former supervisor at the Indian Point nuclear power plant in Westchester County has been charged with falsifying records to conceal the contamination of fuel for backup generators.
The U.S. attorney's office says Daniel Wilson was arrested Tuesday for violating Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations. It says Wilson, an Orange County resident, was chemistry manager at Indian Point in 2011 when diesel fuel for emergency generators was found to contain excessive particulate matter. The complaint alleges Wilson faked a re-test of the fuel in 2012 to show an acceptable level of particulates and then lied about what he had done. A call to Wilson's attorney was not immediately returned. The NRC said there was no evidence the alleged misconduct went beyond Wilson. If convicted, Wilson could be sentenced to seven years in prison.
