Join musicians Cosby Gibson and Tom Staudle for a one-of-a-kind performance of songs from the American Revolution.
This concert features songs sung by soldiers, enslaved people, women, and indigenous people during the conflict between colonists and Great Britain.
Cosby has created a unique blend of historic music and spoken word that contextualizes the songs and touches on the complexity of the American Revolution for all people involved. The history of the American Revolution is detailed with many battles, conferences, and personalities, but it was also a time of patriotism, inspiration, and song. Schoharie Crossing offered for Path Through History Weekend, this musical adventure with Cosby Gibson and Tom Staudle. These award winning songwriters and singers, will perform “Songs from the Revolutionary War” on Saturday, October 7th at 1pm outside the Visitor Center and Museum of Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site. The program includes eight historic songs with interesting narrative and anecdotes of the history of this war. The program is free of charge.
