The event is sponsored by High Spirit, a non-profit residential community for adults with autism/IDD in Great Barrington, MA. It will feature a 40-minute film, "Raising Bar," which tells the story of a young man named Bar and the High Spirit community that was founded in order to provide high-quality, long-term residential care for adults with autism and intellectual disabilities. The film will be followed by a discussion with some of the founders about the High Spirit model and the wider issues surrounding housing for adults with autism/IDD in Massachusetts. Also in attendance will be parents who would like to start a community like High Spirit in the Pioneer Valley.
