Next Stage Arts and Next Chapter Records introduce the NXT Rockumentary Film Series! We’ll be screening a curated selection of films about music and musicians on the second Wednesday of the month for the next several months, kicking off with Martin Scorsese’s iconic film documenting The Band’s farewell concert in 1976.

On Thanksgiving Day 1976, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese was among more than 5,000 cheering fans gathered for the historic farewell concert of the Band, the pioneering country-tinged rock band formed in 1960. Scorsese later edited the concert footage to create this documentary, interspersing band interviews with performances by legends such as Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan and Emmylou Harris.
