Into the Light: A Holiday Extravaganza by The Vanaver Caravan and Arm-of-the-Sea on December 14th & 15th, 2024, 1pm and 4pm

The Vanaver Caravan, in collaboration with Arm-of-the-Sea Theater, will illuminate the holiday season with a performance for all ages. This year, Into the Light features Ubaka Hill, Matoaka Little Eagle, Energy Dance Company, Janice Butcher, Leen Abazza and more. This family-friendly show weaves the magic of Arm-of-the-Sea Theater's giant puppets into the tapestry of The Vanaver Caravan's global dance repertoire. Into the Light uplifts spirits and deepens appreciation for cultural traditions. The fairy tale-like narrative follows the journey of a young girl named Lucia as she seeks joy and hope in the face of the waning winter light. Lucia leaves her village and enters the haunted forests of the Winter Star. In her darkest hour, she finds solace in the company of a kind old Bear, who guides Lucia on a voyage across the globe to witness how people everywhere keep the light of hope alive during the winter season. Into the Light pays homage to myriad global traditions, celebrating holidays such as Kwanzaa, Diwali, Christmas, Chanukah, Yule, Winter Solstice, and Sankta Lucia, through the art of dance and music.
