What a blast we had last year! Join us for the 2nd Annual First Day Hike here at Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site!

This hike will take place on New Year's Day, starting off from the Schoharie Crossing Visitor Center/Museum on Schoharie Street. The route will take hikers 2.5 miles to Yankee Hill Lock and then return for a round trip of 5 miles.* We'll take the old towpath along the historic Erie Canal. These paths are mostly grass-covered with some areas of gravel and a couple road crossings will be encountered. Our First Day Hike is rain or shine, though thunder/lightning or heavy winter snow will cancel the event.
