Clarion Concerts Welcomes Abeo Quartet for a Lovely Afternoon of Chamber Music
In its 68th year of bringing exceptional chamber music to the Hudson Valley/Berkshires, Clarion Concerts celebrates the 2025-2026 season with a new cast of characters whose intention is to honor the heights of its history while inviting new ideas and new directions as they navigate the future. Notes new artistic director Melissa White, "The first two concerts of 2025-2026 tell the story of our direction. We start with the incredibly exciting young Abeo Quartet, who will be opening our season at Hudson Hall. They chose their name, Abeo ("ah-BEY-oh") - an expression of joy in a Nigerian dialect - to reflect their love for playing chamber music and sharing it with others. That they do with their program on 14 September, a rich journey through the string quartet repertoire, from the lyricism of the young Mendelssohn to the introspection of Shostakovich, to the powerful emotion of Schubert’s iconic “Death and the Maiden” quartet!”
