The Family of New Paltz Turkey Trot is an annual 5K run and walk held on Thanksgiving morning (November 27) to support Family of New Paltz. Since 1975, FAMILY has served as a crisis intervention center offering a food pantry, walk-in services, mental and physical health support, domestic violence services, and clothing and household goods distribution. Now in its third decade, the Turkey Trot helps sustain these vital programs.
This family-friendly event includes the beloved Mashed Potato Kids Fun Run at 9:00 a.m., followed by the 5K Turkey Trot at 9:30 a.m. on a USATF-certified course. Both races begin and end at Water Street Market.

In-person registration will be open Wednesday, November 26, from 2–6 p.m. at the Family of New Paltz office, 51 Chestnut Street. We encourage attendees to park at the Jewish Community Center or on Broadhead Avenue that day. Participants may also register the morning of the event beginning at 8:00 a.m.
