Baseball Hall To Launch National Tour

The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown is launching a traveling exhibit with museum artifacts and a major digital component.

The Hall of Fame said Wednesday it’s joining with Major League Baseball, IMAX, Creative Artists Agency and others for a tour of major league and spring training cities in 2016. More dates will follow.

Jeff Idelson is president of the Hall.

“We are extremely excited today to be announcing this very significant tour, which is going to leave a lasting impact on American society,” he says.

Celebrating the Hall’s 75th anniversary, Cooperstown teemed with near-record crowds for the induction ceremonies late last month.

The partnership includes Red Sox chairman Tom Werner, reportedly a finalist to replace Bud Selig as commissioner.

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian joined WAMC in late 2008 and became news director in 2013. He began working on Morning Edition and has produced The Capitol Connection, Congressional Corner, and several other WAMC programs. Ian can also be heard as the host of the WAMC News Podcast and on The Roundtable and various newscasts. Ian holds a BA in English and journalism and an MA in English, both from the University at Albany, where he has taught journalism since 2013.
