Confirmed cases of coronavirus seem to indicate that the second wave of the pandemic has begun in Albany County.

Officials Wednesday put confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Albany County at 4,114 - an increase of 99 since Tuesday. County Health Commissioner Dr. Elizabeth Whalen says COVID is a "tricky virus" and urges everyone to double down when it comes to taking precautions.

"We need to really, in the next six weeks, until we start to be able to get more information about vaccine availability, we really all need to consider limiting our movements as much as possible. I'm concerned that in the coming days and weeks we are gonna continue to see a rise in cases."

Albany County’s death toll remains at 144 since the outbreak began.
