Albany County Executive Dan McCoy gives Friday morning's COVID briefing.

Albany County's COVID-19 numbers released Friday continue to cast a shadow over a possible Capital Region reopening.
County Executive Dan McCoy says the newest numbers include a death: woman in her 80’s with underlying health conditions, bringing the toll to 67.

"We have 1,425 positive cases, which is up 27 from yesterday. We have 852 people under mandatory quarantine, that's down by 37. And we 16 people under precuationary quarantine. That's down by three. We have 3,646 people have completed quarantine and 936 tested positive for the virus and have recovered. That's 40 have recovered since yesterday, which is also good news."

McCoy says the five-day average of daily new positive cases is now at 16. 29 people are hospitalized, the hospitalization rate for Albany County stands at 2.03%. Six people are in ICU, up two since Thursday.
