Two city police officers wounded back in August druing a shootout in Lansingburgh will be on the payroll but off duty for as long as a year and a half. Police Chief John Tedesco tells the Times Union that's how much time officers Joshua Comitale and Chad Klein will likely need before they can go back on the beat. The paper says Troy detectives have nearly completed their investigation into the incident that left gunman Thaddeus Faison dead.

Chief Tedesco also tells the paperhis department plans to outfit officers with $75,000 worth of riot gear, including shields, helmets and special "riot" batons.
