The College of Saint Rose in Albany is facing a $9.3 million deficit and has told faculty members to prepare for layoffs. The Times Union reports the college is seeing declining enrollment and incurred $4 million in operating costs last year. Additionally officials said 70 percent of the school’s property has a mortgage. A St. Rose spokeswoman said the college is working toward “a sustainable financial model.”
