Created and produced by award winning piano virtuoso Damien Sneed in honor of the 90th birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “We Shall Overcome” showcases repertoire from across the African American musical traditions that electrified generations of civil rights activists and defenders with interwoven spoken word from Dr. King’s recorded speeches.
Featuring a band with five vocal soloists the show ties together a living lineage of music and culture from gospel and spirituals to classical and jazz to soul and rhythm & blues.
