Alice Sheppard And Kinetic Light Present "DESCENT" At EMPAC

Alice Sheppard and Laurel Lawson perform Kinetic Light's DESCENT

This Thursday and Friday night Kinetic Light, a collective made up of professional disabled artists Alice Sheppard, Laurel Lawson, and Michael Maag, will perform their dance piece “DESCENT” at EMPAC in Troy, New York.

Performing in wheelchairs, dancers Alice Sheppard and Laurel Lawson traverse a stage built with hills and curves in a telling of the story of Venus and Andromeda through dance, sound, lights, and projection.

Friday's evening's performance will stream live.

In her work with WAMC, she often interviews regional and global artists in all fields including music, theatre, film, television, and visual arts. During the main thrust of the Covid-19 pandemic shut-down, Sarah hosted a live Instagram interview program "A Face for Radio Video Series." On it, Sarah spoke with artists about the creative activities they were accomplishing and/or missing. She is on the board of WAM Theatre and lives in Albany, New York with her husband, Paul, and their dog, Doritos.
