This weekend, the Albany Symphony will perform a pair of concerts at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall celebrating a broad range of symphonic percussion instruments, and showcasing the artistry of world-renowned virtuoso Dame Evelyn Glennie.

Glennie, recipient of over 80 international awards to date, last joined the Albany Symphony for its performance and recording of John Corigliano’s Conjurer for solo percussion and orchestra, winning the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo.

Glennie is the featured soloist for the Albany Symphony’s concerts on Saturday, April 16th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 17th at 3:00 p.m. where she will perform Michael Daugherty’s Dreamachine with the orchestra.

This morning, we welcome ASO Maestro David Alan Miller and composer Michael Daugherty.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
