On-air questions: Currently headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was established on April 4, 1949, with 12 member nations signing the agreement. (In 2009, Albania and Croatia became the 27th and 28th members of the alliance.) In honor of the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty, this week our questions are about words in the NATO phonetic alphabet. (For our listeners who aren't familiar with that alphabet, each letter is represented by a word: A is "alfa," B is "bravo," and so forth.)
