Mental Health Month Specials

Friday, May 16 @ 11 a.m.
In honor of “Mental Health Month,” WAMC will air three specials that help inform of us what we may not know. One in four older adults live with a mental illness, yet many don’t receive the care they need—a growing concern as the aging population is set to double by 2050. Learn about the unique mental health challenges older adults face, highlighting care models, therapeutic solutions, and voices from providers and individuals navigating these issues in “The Aging Mind.”

The phrase “if only” is often heard around children’s mental health— “if only we’d known,” “if only they’d been diagnosed sooner.” With one in seven kids affected, “Treating the Young Mind” explores the importance of early intervention, treatment options, medication safety, and new advances in therapy.
