Albany, NY – Lymphedema is a disease that stems from an accumulation of fluid in the area between the cells of the body, causing swelling. This often occurs in the arms, legs, and occasionally in other parts of the body like the head and neck. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services estimates that Lymphedema affects an estimated one hundred million men, women, and children around the world, including at least three million Americans.
