Albany, NY – On this first day of Women's History Month, The White House has released a new federal report entitled Women in America: Indicators of Social and Economic Well-Being. It's the first comprehensive federal report on women since 1963, when President Kennedy's Commission on the Status of Women produced a report on the conditions of women. The newly-released report focuses on five critical areas: people, families and income; education; employment; health; and crime and violence. WAMC's Ray Graf asks listeners "How far have women in America progressed over the past fifty years, and is the pace of this progress satisfactory to you?"
