Comedian, actor, filmmaker and playwright Mike Birbiglia has been making public radio fans and live audiences laugh for years through his embrace of the awkward and absurd and masterful monologues.
Frequently heard on these airwaves on This American Life, The Moth, Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, and yes, The Roundtable, Birbiglia wrote and starred in the off-Broadway show Sleepwalk With Me, which became a feature film in 2012.
He has released five comedy albums and standup specials and another off-Broadway show, My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend.
Birbiglia will bring his Thank God For Jokes tour to Troy Savings Bank Music Hall Friday at 8.
