We are doing this: stand-up comedian and podcast host, Marc Maron

Larry Hirshowitz

Stand-up comedian, Marc Maron, kicks of his “Out of the Garage” Tour at The Egg in Albany, NY this Friday, February 1st.

The title of the show refers to the home-studio in his garage – the primary location used to record his very popular podcast “WTF with Marc Maron.” The podcast features perceptive stream-of-consciousness introductions and lengthy (usually one-on-one, occasionally one-on-two for example: Tenacious D) conversations with iconic entertainment personalities. The podcast premiered in 2009 and regularly hits #1 on iTunes and has been called a “must-listen” by Vanity Fair, The New York Times, and many other publications and entertainment websites.

Marc was just named one of the 50 Funniest People in by Rolling Stone and he has appeared on Conan O’Brien more than any other comedian (a record 48 times and counting). He joins us to talk about the podcast, keeping some things private, and how he knows when his stand-up is good.

Sarah has been a public radio producer for over fifteen years. She grew up in Saranac Lake, New York where she worked part-time at Pendragon Theatre all through high school and college. She graduated from UAlbany in 2006 with a BA in English and started at WAMC a few weeks later as a part-time board-op in the control room. Through a series of offered and seized opportunities she is now the Senior Contributing Producer of The Roundtable and Producer of The Book Show. During the main thrust of the Covid-19 pandemic shut-down, Sarah hosted a live Instagram interview program "A Face for Radio Video Series." On it, Sarah spoke with actors, musicians, comedians, and artists about the creative activities they were accomplishing and/or missing.
