NBA:

Avery Bradley scored 25 of his playoff career-high 29 points while the Boston Celtics dominated the first half of a 123-101 drubbing of Washington. Bradley hit four 3-pointers and shot 12-for-19 overall as the Celtics took a three-games-to-two lead in the NBA's Eastern Conference semifinals. Al Horford delivered 19 points on 8 of 9 shooting and had seven assists and six rebounds for the Celts.

Boston guard Isaiah Thomas has been fined $25,000 for inappropriate language toward a fan during the Celtics' Game 4 loss at Washington. The NBA announced the fine yesterday.

Tonight San Antonio is in Houston for Game 6 to take on the Rockets at 8 p.m. The Spurs lead the series 3-2.

Also in the NBA:

— The Golden State Warriors have agreed to a two-year lease extension to remain at Oracle Arena in Oakland before a planned move to San Francisco for the 2019-20 season. The deal includes an unspecified rent increase and still needs approval by the Oakland City Council and Alameda County officials.

NHL:

The Pittsburgh Penguins are going back to the NHL's Eastern Conference finals after taking Game 7 of their second-round series, 2-0 at Washington. Bryan Rust and Patric Hornqvist had the goals to back Marc-Andre Fleury, who stopped 29 shots in helping the Pens eliminate the Capitals for the second straight year. Pittsburgh has won nine of the 10 playoff series between the two teams. The Penguins now prepare for the Ottawa Senators, who knocked out the Rangers in six games.

Nick Ritchie scored the game-winner and the Anaheim Ducks advanced to the NHL's Western Conference finals by outlasting Edmonton, 2-1 in Game 7. Ritchie notched the tiebreaking goal early in the third period to help the Ducks win a seventh game for the first time in six tries. John Gibson stopped 23 shots and blanked the Oilers after Drake Caggiula scored 3 ½ minutes into the game.

Former NHL forward Tony McKegney has been charged with impaired driving on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Tyendinaga police said Wednesday that the 59-year-old McKegney was arrested on April 30. They said the arrest was made after officers responded to a report of a vehicle "all over" County Road 49. McKegney has been released from custody, and is to appear in court in Belleville on May 18. McKegney played 13 seasons in the NHL from 1978 to 1991 with the Buffalo Sabres, Quebec Nordiques, Minnesota North Stars, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks. He had 320 goals and 319 assists in 912 regular-season games and 24 goals and 23 assists in 79 playoff games.

Nashville Predators defenseman P.K. Subban (SOO'-ban) has been fined $2,000 for embellishment after taking a hit from St. Louis Blues defenseman Joel Edmundson during the Western Conference semifinals. Subban and Edmundson had received offsetting minor penalties after the incident took place during Game 4.

MLB:

German Marquez carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and collected his first big league hit in a 3-0 shutout of the Chicago Cubs in Denver. The no-hitter ended when Kris Bryant led off the seventh with a double, a half-inning before Marquez hit a two-run single that capped the scoring. The 22-year-old right-hander scattered three hits and struck out eight in eight innings after entering the game 0-2 with a 7.31 ERA in three starts this season.

Christian Arroyo broke a ninth-inning tie with a three-run double and the San Francisco Giants took advantage of a critical error by third baseman Wilmer Flores, rallying past the New York Mets 6-5 yesterday to stop a five-game losing streak. Hunter Pence hit a tying single off closer Jeurys Familia in a four-run ninth that gave the Giants only their third victory in 11 games.

Top of the order hitters Keon Broxton and Eric Thames had two hits each and set the tone in a four-run fifth inning, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 7-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox last night. Jackie Bradley Jr. homered for the Red Sox, while Christian Vazquez was one of four Boston hitters with two hits.

Right-hander Chad Green was optioned back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre by the New York Yankees on Wednesday, a day after he pitched a scoreless inning at Cincinnati in his season debut. Green was brought up Monday when the Yankees' bullpen was short-handed after an 18-inning win at Chicago on Sunday night. New York was off Wednesday before opening a home series against Houston.

The Washington Nationals finally got a victory in their Beltway Series by scoring three times in the bottom of the ninth to down Baltimore, 7-6. Jayson Werth belted a solo homer in the ninth before former Oriole Matt Wieters won it with a two-run single. Mark Trumbo and Manny Machado homered while the O's built a 6-2 lead.

Dodgers outfielder Andrew Toles will need season-ending surgery after tearing the ACL in his right knee during Tuesday's game against Pittsburgh. He landed awkwardly while trying to catch Andrew McCutchen's double, which ended a no-hit bid by Julio Urias. Toles was hitting .275 with five home runs and 15 RBIs.

In other major league news:

— The Twins have claimed left-hander Adam Wilk off waivers from the Mets. He made one start for New York, allowing five earned runs in 3 2/3 innings against Miami last weekend.

— Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton has undergone surgery to repair his torn left ACL. Eaton was batting .297 with 13 RBIs and 24 runs scored in 23 games when he was injured April 28.

— Shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria has become the Marlins' third infielder in three days to go on the disabled list, sidelined by a strained right hamstring. That means second baseman Dee Gordon will shift over to short.

— The White Sox have placed catcher Geovany Soto on the 10-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation.

— The Royals have promoted Seth Maness from Triple-A Omaha, less than nine months after the right-hander had ligament surgery on his pitching elbow.

Sports Media:

ESPN broadcaster Chris Berman and his two adult children say they're "overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and sympathy" following the death of Berman's wife in a traffic crash in Connecticut. The family released a statement last night. State police say 67-year-old Katherine Ann Berman, of Cheshire, was one of two victims in the two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Woodbury. The other victim was 87-year-old Edward Bertulis, of Waterbury.

NFL:

The fresh start for wide receiver Michael Floyd's sidetracked career will come at home in Minnesota. Floyd agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the Vikings yesterday. Floyd finished last season with Super Bowl champion New England after a drunken driving arrest led to his departure from the Arizona Cardinals.

Questions abound after a judge erased ex-NFL star Aaron Hernandez's murder conviction in a 2013 killing. Chief among them: What, if any, wealth did the former New England Patriots tight end leave behind when he hanged himself in prison April 19th and could the team be back on the hook for nearly $6 million it withheld from him after he was charged in the killing? Lawyers say there are no clear answers.

NCAA:

College athletes continue to produce record scores in the classroom. The NCAA's most recent Academic Progress Report shows the four-year average in Division I was 981, two points higher than last year. Scores are calculated by giving each player on each team one point per semester for remaining academically eligible and another point each semester if they remain in school or graduate. A perfect score is 1,000. This year's numbers cover the 2012-16 academic years. It's the 12th consecutive record-breaking score.

Nevada basketball coach Eric Musselman has signed a five-year extension through 2021-22 after leading the Wolf Pack to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2007. Musselman led Nevada to the Mountain West Conference regular-season and tournament titles with a 28-7 mark last season. He is just the second coach in school history to reach at least 20 wins in each of his first two years.

In other college basketball news:

— UNLV junior forward Dwayne Morgan has been suspended indefinitely from the team following his arrest last weekend on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge in a dispute with a taxi driver over cab fare. Morgan has averaged 9.4 points and 7.3 rebounds in 32 career games.

— Guard Shembari Phillips is leaving Tennessee after two seasons. The 6-foot-3 guard from Atlanta made 13 starts as a sophomore this past season.

Local:

The family of a college football player shot and killed by a suburban New York police officer in 2010 has received a formal apology. A settlement between the parents of Danroy "D.J." Henry, of Easton, Massachusetts, and the town of Mount Pleasant, New York, was announced Tuesday. The settlement includes an undisclosed sum from the town to the family, and an undisclosed contribution from the town to a scholarship fund named for Henry.
