NHL:
Over on the ice, Ottawa blanked the Rangers 3-0, Florida doubled up Boston 4-2, Tampa Bay skated by New Jersey in overtime 4-3, Carolina bested Philadelphia 3-1, Montreal edged Detroit in overtime 4-3, St. Louis beat Chicago 2-1, Minnesota doubled up Nashville 4-2, Calgary won against Los Angeles 3-1 making the Kings the fifth team in NHL to miss the playoffs after winning the Stanley cup the previous year, Colorado beat Winnipeg in a shootout 1-0, San Jose defeated Edmonton 3-1, and it was Vancouver over Arizona 5-0.

MLB:
In Major League Baseball, in interleague play, Boston tripled up Philadelphia 6-2.
In the American League, Toronto doubled up the Yankees 6-3 despite Alex Rodriguez’s first home run since his drug suspension. Kansas City beat the White Sox 4-1, Cleveland bested Houston 5-1, Texas crushed Oakland 10-1, and it was Detroit over Minnesota 7-1.
In the National League, the Mets topped Washington 6-3, Cincinnati routed Pittsburgh 3-2, and it was San Francisco over San Diego 1-0 in 12 innings.
NFL:
Jurors in the murder trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez will continue deliberating for a fourth day. Deliberations will end at 1 p.m. today due to scheduling issues if jurors have not reached a verdict by then. Yesterday, the judge banned Boston TV cameraman Robert Cusanelli for following jurors to their parking spots. He acknowledged that he decided to find out where the jurors were parking. He said he didn't talk to them or take their pictures.
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell is facing a three-game suspension following his arrest on DUI and marijuana charges last August. A person with direct knowledge of the suspension told The Associated Press Bell is expected to appeal the suspension, which was first reported by ESPN. Bell was arrested last August following a traffic stop along with then-teammate LeGarrette Blount.
Golf:
Jordan Spieth fell one stroke short of the tournament record while grabbing a three-stroke lead in the first round of the Masters. Spieth birdied eight of his first 14 holes in an 8-under 64 at Augusta National. Ernie Els, Justin Rose, Charley Hoffman and Jason Day share second, and Tiger Woods is 1-over in his first tournament in about two months.
NCAA:
Jack Eichel scored two goals and Boston University held off North Dakota 5-3 last night in the Frozen Four to advance to the championship game. The Terriers will face Hockey East rival Providence in the title game Saturday night at TD Garden. The Friars beat Nebraska-Omaha 4-1 in the first semifinal.
Nate Oats will serve as Buffalo's interim head basketball coach while the Bulls look for a replacement for Bobby Hurley. Hurley left Buffalo after two seasons Thursday to coach Arizona State.
The celebration of UConn's 10th women's basketball championship continues this weekend with a parade through Hartford. Governor Dannel P. Malloy's office says the victory parade will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the state Capitol and end at the XL Center, the downtown basketball arena, where a rally is planned.
Seven players that helped Kentucky post a 38-1 record this season and reach the Final Four have announced they are leaving school early to enter the NBA draft.
Seven-footer Willie Cauley-Stein, twin guards Andrew and Aaron Harrison and freshman forwards Karl-Anthony Towns and Trey Lyles all said they will turn pro. Joining them will be reserve center Dakari Johnson and backup guard Devin Booker, leaving the Wildcats without their seven leading scorers from this season.
Confirmation they were leaving school was more was more visual than verbal. Coach John Calipari asked those who were leaving to stand up. After they all looked at each other, they stood up to applause in the practice gym before answering questions.
Duke says freshman Jahlil Okafor will enter the NBA draft, as expected. Okafor led the Blue Devils to a 35-4 record and its fifth national championship, a 68-63 victory over Wisconsin in Indianapolis on Monday night.
The 6-foot-11 Okafor was both a preseason and postseason AP All-America selection.
He averaged 17.3 points and 8.5 rebounds and shot 66 percent. He's the first ACC freshman to be named league player of the year.
