NFL:

Multiple sources are reporting that the NFL is looking into a video of a New England Patriots locker room attendant who allegedly took both teams game balls from the officials’ locker room to a bathroom for 90 seconds on the way to the field.

Meanwhile New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has made a strong defense of his team's actions and integrity regarding the NFL's investigation into under-inflated footballs being used in the AFC championship game. Kraft says he expects an apology from the league once the Patriots are found to be not guilty of breaking any rules.

NBA:

In the NBA, Boston won against Utah 99-90, Oklahoma City beat Minnesota 92-84, Memphis topped Orlando 103-94, New Orleans bested Philadelphia 99-74, and it was the Clippers over Denver 102-98.

The NBA postponed last night’s home games for both the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets due to the winter storm in the New York City area. The Knicks were scheduled to host the Sacramento Kings, at the same time the Nets were set to face the Portland Trail Blazers. The Trail Blazers-Nets game has been rescheduled for April 6th.

NCAA:

In top 25 men’s college basketball No. 13 North Carolina beat Syracuse 93-83.

MLB:

The New York Yankees are thinking about not making a $6 million payment to Alex Rodriguez if he hits six home runs and ties Willie Mays at 660 for fourth place on the career list. Rodriguez signed a $275 million, 10-year contract with the team in 2007. He also signed a separate marketing agreement that called for $6 million payments for up to five milestone accomplishments designated by the Yankees.

The Boston Red Sox say All-Star pitcher Bill Monbouquette has died. He was 78. The team says Monbouquette died Sunday at a Boston hospital due to complications from leukemia. Monbouquette threw a no-hitter and had a 20-win season for his hometown team. He spent more than 50 years in professional baseball as a player, coach and scout. He was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2000.

AUSTRAILIAN OPEN:

Second seed Maria Sharapova and No. 10 Ekatarina Makarova have advanced to the Australian Open semifinals. Sharapova downed No. 7 Eugenie Bouchard 6-3, 6-2 after Makarova ousted No. 3 Simona Halep, 6-4, 6-love. And Tomas Berdych advanced to the men's semifinals by knocking out 14-time Grand Slam champion and third seed Rafael Nadal.
