NHL:
Over on the ice, the Islanders edged Washington in overtime 3-2, Winnipeg beat Buffalo 2-1, Florida blanked Carolina 1-0, Tampa Bay skated past the Rangers 4-3, Detroit bested Philadelphia 5-2, Pittsburgh edged Toronto in overtime 4-3, Los Angeles shut out Minnesota 4-0, Chicago beat Colorado 3-2, and it was Calgary over San Jose 2-0.
NCAA:
Dre Wills scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Vermont to a 73-47 win over Bryant last night. Vermont outscored Bryant by 20 points in the first half, 34-14, as the Catamounts held the Bulldogs to four field goals and four free throws.
Meanwhile University at Albany beat Colgate 75-71 in a non-league basketball game.
