Miami Defeats Raptors 104-95, Lebron Hits Milestone

In the NBA, on their third try, the Miami Heat have scored their first road victory of the season. LeBron James scored a season-high 35 points, Dwyane Wade had 20 and the two-time NBA champion Heat beat the Toronto Raptors 104-95.

James became the fifth player in NBA history to score 10 points or more in 500 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Kemba Walker scored 25 points, Gerald Henderson added 18 and the Charlotte Bobcats held off a late run by New York to beat the Knicks 102-97.

Brook Lopez scored a game-high 27 points, Deron Williams had 10 points and eight assists and the Brooklyn Nets ended their four-game losing streak to the Utah Jazz, 104-88.

Miami took Toronto 104-95. Indiana beat Detroit 99-91. It was Phoenix of New Orleans 104-98. Dallas defeated the Lakers 123-104. San Antonio passed Denver 102-94. Atlanta won against Sacramento 105-100 and Portland fell to Houston 116-101.

In the NHL, the Buffalo Sabres notched their third victory in 17 games by winning at San Jose 5-4 in a shootout. That's the Sharks' third straight loss.

Alex Ovechkin returned from a shoulder injury to score his 11th and 12th goals of the season, and the Washington Capitals rode a second-period flurry to a 6-2 win over the New York Islanders.

Ex-Bruins Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley scored in a shootout against their former team and lifted the Dallas Stars a 3-2 win over Boston. Ottawa defeated Columbus 4-1. Edmonton bested Florida 4-3 in overtime. Carolina edged Philadelphia 2-1 in overtime. St. Louis trumped Montreal 3-2 in a shootout. Minnesota defeated Calgary 5-1 and Vancouver fell to Phoenix 3-2 in a shootout.
