In soccer, after getting a game-tying score from Nick LaBrocca, the Colorado Rapids used an own goal in the 67th minute beat the New England Revolution 2-1. Juan Toja scored for New England. It was Toja's first goal since July 19th, 2008.
Registration has closed for the Boston Half Marathon now that the limit of 7,500 runners has been reached. It took about 12 minutes from the time registration started yesterday until the maximum amount of competitors had signed up for the 13th annual race on October 13th.
In the NFL, Texas A&M Quarterback Johnny Manziel, who last year became the only freshman to win the Heisman Trophy, said the reason he left the Manning Passing Academy early this past weekend was that he slept in late and missed a meeting.
Finally, Chris Froome edged Alberto Contador to win the 17th stage of the Tour de France in a rainy time trial. Froome's third stage victory extended his overall lead to 4 minutes, 34 seconds.
