Well the Hawks have forced a Game 6 against the Celtics…

On the hardwood last night in Atlanta, Al Horford netted 19 points and grabbed 11 boards, as the Hawks got by the Celtics 87-86.  Boston, who still leads three-games-to-two, will host Game 6 tomorrow night.

To the NHL postseason…on the ice last night in Philadelphia, Martin Brodeur turned back 27 shots and Ilya Kovalchuk’s third-period power play goal put the game out of reach, as the Devils knocked out the Flyers 3-1, advancing to their first Eastern Conference finals since 2003.  New Jersey now awaits the winner of the Rangers-Capitals series – these two skate in Game 6 tonight.

To baseball… Josh Hamilton has become the 16th player in major league history to homer four times in a game, going deep in the first, third, seventh, and eighth innings, as the Rangers blasted Baltimore 10-3.  Hamilton also added a double, finishing 5 for 5 with a career-high 8 RBIs in setting an American League record with 18 total bases.

Elsewhere in the American League, Raul Ibanez homered twice to power the Yankees over Tampa Bay 5-3, the White Sox got by Cleveland 5-3 in 10, Detroit downed Seattle 6-4, Brandon Inge belted a walk-off grand slam to lift Oakland over Toronto 7-3, Minnesota shutout the Angels 5-0, and Billy Butler’s three-run shot in the eighth gave Kansas City a 6-4 win over Boston.

Over to the NL, Lucas Duda and Kirk Nieuwenhuis each drove in 2 as the Mets dumped Philadelphia 7-4, San Francisco doubled up the Dodgers 2-1, Pittsburgh rallied to beat Washington 5-4, Atlanta held off the Cubs 3-1, Houston fought off Miami 3-2, Milwaukee dropped Cincinnati 8-3, Colorado downed San Diego 3-1, and Carlos Beltran homered twice, driving in six, as St. Louis routed Arizona 6-1.

In other baseball news, Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte will make his return to the Yankee Stadium mound on Sunday.  The 39-year-old lefty will get the start against Seattle.

And in NFL news, former Giants wide receiver and two-time Super Bowl champ Stacy Robinson has died at age 50 following a battle with cancer.
