The future of healthcare is being shaped by COVID-19.

The pandemic exposed supply-chain problems that caused drug shortages and left hospitals scrambling to find facemasks, gowns, and other protective equipment.

To develop scenarios about the future of healthcare, the nonprofit organization US Pharmacopeia and the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence surveyed 100 global experts in science and medicine.

WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Ronald Piervincenzi, the CEO of US Pharmacopeia.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
