Rep. Delgado Introduces A Bill To Help Create A Gateway To Careers

New York Congressman Antonio Delgado has helped introduce legislation to close the skills gap and support technical training in community college and technical education programs.

Delgado, a 19th District Democrat, is a co-sponsor of the Gateway to Careers Act. The legislation would create a career pathway grant program that would fund partnerships between community or technical colleges and workforce development partners. These programs would support such services as child care and transportation for community college and career and technical education students. North Carolina Democrat Alma Adams is the bill’s sponsor and fellow Democrat Ilhan Omar of Minnesota is the other original co-sponsor.
