The candidates for mayor of Pittsfield, Massachusetts will debate Monday.
Mayor Linda Tyer, at-large City Councilor Melissa Mazzeo, retired cop Karen Kalinowsky, and businessman Scott Graves will gather at Berkshire Community College.
Tyer is serving the city’s first four-year term.
“We are moving on, we are moving forward, there is more work to do,” she told WAMC.
Mazzeo criticizes what she says is business as usual politics in Pittsfield.
“I’ve been listening for 10 years, and it’s the same stories,” said Mazzeo.
Kalinowsky, a newcomer, wants to make city politics more accessible.
“It got me upset, I was complaining, and I decided – I can do something about it instead of just complain,” said the former Pittsfield police officer.
And Graves wants to make Pittsfield more business-friendly.
“Back in the ’90s, it seemed like there wasn’t so much red tape,” he told WAMC.
The debate will be broadcast live on Pittsfield Community Television at 7 p.m.
