Two New York congressmen are calling on the FBI to investigate the deaths of two Westchester County residents in the Dominican Republic.

The Mount Vernon couple on vacation in the Dominican Republic died as the result of an apparent auto accident. And now Democratic Congressmen Eliot Engel and Adriano Espaillat have written to the FBI director asking for a full investigation into the facts of the case. Fifty-two-year-old Portia Ravenelle and 40-year-old Orlando Moore arrived in the Dominican Republic on March 24. Police said Tuesday that a severely injured Ravenelle was found without identification on March 27 at the scene where a car plunged into the sea from the highway leading to the airport. She died April 4 after six days in intensive care. Moore's body was found on the coast several miles away March 31.
