A New York congressman has launched a political action committee to build what he calls progressive power.

Lower Hudson Valley Congressman Mondaire Jones of the 17th District has launched a Policy is Personal PAC aimed at fighting the influence of big money in politics. The PAC will support progressive candidates running for office who refuse to accept corporate PAC contributions, and will be guided by the belief that there are better policy outcomes when voters elect people whose lives and livelihoods are directly affected by the policies coming out of Washington. Jones, a first-term Congressman representing all of Rockland County and part of Westchester, launched his PAC a few days after announcing that he had raised more than $580,000 in the first fundraising quarter of his 2022 re-election campaign.
